5 Tips to get your Kindle eBook Marketing Started

First, it is YOUR book, not Kindle’s.

Promote your book. Advertise your book. Talk about your book to people.

You sell your book through the retailer, Amazon, and it is available as an ebook for the Kindle format.

You need to start this process as soon as you decide you want to write the book.  Marketing and writing will play hand in hand and help each other out as you move through the process.

There are hundreds of ways to promote a book and each book can be different.  Start with these five proven methods to promote your book.

Use Book Promotion Sites

There are hundreds of websites out there that will promote your book for free.  Once you have submitted your information to them, they will then email it out to their list of thousands…which is nice.

Go All-out on Social Media

Utilize social media to reach your potential readers there.

You can do social teasers in terms of give actionable tips, quick how-tos, interesting facts or key quotes from your Kindle book.

Each of it must be presented in interesting and relevant content formats. Promote your book on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or even Pinterest.

Get More Kindle Reviews

Nothing says “don’t buy my book” or “don’t take me seriously” than 0 reviews.  The number of reviews effects your Amazon rankings and your conversion rate.

I know this isn’t a promotion tactic, but without this, you promotion would be hindered significantly.  One way to drive up your reviews is to offer your book for free using Kindle Select and then placing your book on Promotion sites, forums, etc.

Positive reviews about the book itself can influence others to read it. It’s one of the good ways of promoting actually. People take reviews as personal recommendations.

More reviews will lead to more readers to purchase your book. It helps also in ranking your book on top of the charts.

Create an Author Web Page

Create a website solely for your Kindle book where potential buyers and readers can go to, to find out more about your book, help make up their minds and find additional information.

Drive more traffic to the site with comments, blogs, quotes and extracts. Properly show in the web page how people can buy the book.

Comment on forums

Yep, that’s right, forums.  Find what your target market is asking about and engage.

Provide input and help them out.  Or get into arguments about subject matter that is in your area.

  • They can leave immediate reviews
  • Drive up your sales numbers
  • Comment about your book on other places

Find forums or questions online about that (because let’s face it, no one is talking about your book yet) and start engaging with their fans.  Over time, they will trust you and you can let them know that “if you liked Ready Player One, you’re going to love my book..”

Don’t do like others and just go to forums so as to drive people to your book.  Sales, Sales Sales….no no no.  Engage, Engage, Engage…and then sell.

You want a bestseller? Yeah, you can do that by thinking like a smart marketer.
